Eco-Adventure Variety and Customization:

A variety of Eco-Adventures  are available for your exploration of the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve and areas along the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. You may choose to paddle your Kayak or SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard)*, or you may prefer to travel in my 18′ Flat Bottom Bateau. Each tour package is described below. Customized tours are also available if you have other adventures in mind.

Bateau 3-Hour Rachel Carson Reserve’s Insider Guide – Includes a guided boat cruise along the Historic Beaufort Waterfront and the four islands that comprise the Rachel Carson Reserve. Observe the diverse habitats and wildlife found throughout each of the islands within the Reserve. Bring your camera and/or binoculars for close-up views of the Carrot Island horses. A walking tour on the Rachel Carson Reserve is also an option. Light snacks and water are provided.

Kayak/SUP Tours*

Kayak or SUP “Glide with the Tide” 2-hour Tour – Includes instruction (if needed) and a guided Kayak or SUP tour along the Historic Beaufort Waterfront and through the Rachel Carson Reserve. Observe wildlife including birds, horses, and marine life. Paddling breaks provide time learn more about the ecosystem, history, and wildlife. (Contact Information: sbtstoursATgmailDOTcom)

Kayak or SUP 3-hour Rachel Carson Reserve/Waterfront Dining Tour – Includes instruction (if needed) and a guided Kayak or SUP tour along the Rachel Carson Reserve. Observe wildlife including birds, horses, and marine life. Take a paddling break with a waterfront dining experience along the Historic Beaufort Waterfront. Kayak or SUP 3-Hour Photography Tour – Includes instruction (if needed) and a guided Kayak or SUP tour exploring the Rachel Carson Reserve and learning photography techniques from your watercraft. **Optional Overnight Add-on:

Overnight Accommodation in the Beaufort Suite – Add overnight accommodations to your Eco-Adventure at Beaufort Suite. ($65/person/night; 2-night minimum) Accommodations include a private suite (1 Double Bed, 1 Full Bath, Microwave, Coffee maker, Refrigerator, Deck, Private entry, and free parking on-site). Licensed/Certified Instruction and Guidance

Each Eco-Adventure includes personalized guide service with Miriam Sutton. Miriam is an ACA Certified Paddling Instructor and a Licensed Boat Captain (USCG-OUPV) with 20+ years of experience guiding visitors along the Crystal Coast. She is a science educator and is knowledgeable of Beaufort’s Maritime History and the Ecology of the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve (where she serves as an Advisory Board Member).
