EARTH Workshop – Seattle, Washington

Educators And Researchers – Testing Hypotheses (EARTH) 2022 was co-hosted by the Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Array(GO-BGC) and held in Seattle, Washington. The GO-BGC has deployed a global network of floats that collect chemical and biological data from the ocean’s surface down to 2,000 meters of depth. This network of data allows researchers to monitor our ocean’s health and productivity by measuring seasonal changes in the ocean’s carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen cycles throughout the year. Scientists shared their knowledge from the GO-BGC network during the workshop and collaborated with educators to develop lessons and activities that communicate and transfer their research to students.
